The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. (GPL) is the global leader in metabolic, environmental, and genetic testing for people with chronic illnesses and diseases.  We offer a variety of clinical tests which help diagnose underlying conditions that are not routinely available through other laboratories.



We are currently looking for a Research and Development Laboratory Technologist to


join our team. As a Research and Development Laboratory Technologist you will:



  • Engage  in medical research under direction of the Laboratory Director


  • Program automated spectrophotometric analyzers for new methods rather than just applying

  • methods that have already been developed.



  • Carefully document all steps in the assay development in either lab notebooks or electronic media


  • Analyze chromatographic and mass spectral data generated by GC/MS, using Microsoft Excel and/or statistical programs.


  • Perform and records quality control to ensure accuracy of research data.

  • Job Requirements

    Education and/or Experience



    Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or medical technology from a four-year college or university



    Mathematical Skills



    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to perform basic statistical analysis.



    Reasoning Ability



    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.



    Computer Skills



    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have user level knowledge of patient database systems. Proficiency in Microsoft EXCEL Spreadsheet software and other Microsoft Office software is required. Knowledge of statistics and statistical programs highly desirable.
